A word from Serve & Protect founder, Rob MichaelsIn both Cleveland and Philadelphia, two groups were sadly juxtaposed for political purposes. Law Enforcement and Black Lives Matter. It was the stark contrast that caught the attention of national media – with an equally stark contrast in how it was reported.

In Cleveland, Sheriff David Clark was a featured speaker, heralding the honor and integrity of law enforcement, and highlighting the obvious bias against them by certain politicians and media. The GOP candidate regularly encourages law enforcement and promises to make sure they are protected and properly equipped.

In Philadelphia, Mothers of some who died through an interaction with police were given ath featured spot – they are called the Mothers of Black Lives Matter. The President has entertained Black Lives Matter at the White House, and the DNC celebrates that group despite BLM calls for police killings. “What do we want? Dead cops.”  “Pigs in a blanket, fry ‘em like bacon.”

Sadly, not one widow of any fallen officer was invited until later in the week – AFTER the outcry from all sides (kinda like no flags the first night). During a brief speech by a black Police Chief, her comments were interrupted by chants of black lives matter. The Democratic candidate insisted that law enforcement would not be in uniform in the arena. This was a political calculation.

Recently the National Fraternal Order of Police sent questionnaires to presidential candidates to consider the appropriate endorsement. The GOP candidate responded promptly. The Democratic candidate declined.

What a stark contrast. Two cities. Two candidates. Two messages for law enforcement.

As of this writing, 73 police officers have died in the line of duty in 2016. Of those, 35 were Screen Shot 2015-07-27 at 10.16.50 AMby gunfire – an increase of about 85% over last year, many in ambush killed by an assailant. Nine were killed by vehicular assault. That includes 5 officers shot in Dallas and 3 officers shot in Baton Rouge in assignation plots. In July alone, 12 have died by gunfire, a third of this year’s total. The most recent was an undercover TBI Agent murdered in Jackson, TN.

Recently, President Obama attended the funeral for the 5 officers murdered. He inappropriately used that platform to mention police shootings in Minneapolis and Baton Rouge. Both incidents are still under investigation. Yet, as he did in Cambridge, Ferguson, and Baltimore, Obama condemned law enforcement, before investigations concluded.

However, in Cambridge, Ferguson, and Baltimore, federal investigations concluded and the officers exonerated. No bias. No wrongdoing. But racist activists rejected the rulings of courts, the DOJ, and Grand Juries. To this day, racially motivated entertainers, athletes, and politicians, and media STILL say Hands up really happened – denouncing the DOJ findings and 5 black witnesses testimony. Not to mention the star witness recanting his statement. Truth.

Screen Shot 2016-08-10 at 2.16.35 PMConsider Baltimore. Six officers charged in the death of a known criminal. The Officers were told to patrol THAT specific area by DA Mosby – for drugs. That same DA charged those six officers and in announcing their indictments, went on a racist rant – a prosecutor that is supposed to want justice for all.

Those officers have been cleared of all wrongdoing by a black Judge known for convicting bad cops. Mosby went on another rant – this time against the criminal justice system. Actually, she was negligent in her duties, and embarked on a malicious prosecution of those officers. Today, a Georgetown law professor is calling for her disbarment. The DOJ chimed in with an investigation of racism in the Baltimore PD – since the trial did not go their way.

Yet, media and pundits perpetuate misinformation – hands up don’t shoot was proven false. Statistically, blacks are NOT killed more than whites by police – quite the converse – twice as many whites die from police encounters. But don’t tell that to Al Sharpton, black lives matter, or the others.

Obama and AG Loretta Lynch demand police sensitivity training for racial bias. What about better child rearing for those killing police? What about sensitivity training for criminals? What about the lies?

What does black lives matter and the other racist hate groups say  about the 3500+ black youth killed in Chicago by black assailants? Silence. No answer. Nothing from Obama or Hillary – except demanding better gun control in a city with exceedingly strict gun policies already.

Screen Shot 2016-08-10 at 2.19.36 PMWhat about chants “Pigs in a blanket, fry’em like bacon,” or “What do we want, dead cops, when do we want it, now.” What about the threats from the Black Gorilla gang calling for executions of police on duty, or Nation of Islam calling for 10,000 police deaths, or New Black Panthers demanding police deaths, or most recent, gangs in Chicago calling for police deaths there and across the country – wanting 2 dead cops for each black killed.

Screen Shot 2016-08-10 at 2.21.48 PMWe are in a crisis, but Washington turns a deaf ear – worse – they turn off the volume. Media shows their political bias. Police are dying. All based in racism, all fueled by lies, all encouraged by pandering politicians and activists.

The bottom line is this issue is not a political platform. Lives are at the center. All Lives Matter. Yet, some politicians reject that statement, pandering to black lives matter, who insists that is racist, just as they say Blue Lives Matter is racist.

imagesIn the eyes of the Lord, ALL LIVES REALLY MATTER. As a Christian who believes in the Biblical account of Creation – ALL PEOPLE COME FROM THE SAME PARENTS – ADAM AND EVE. We are all family, regardless of the color of one’s skin. God values the life of every human being – For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes will have eternal life. If God sent Jesus for all mankind, who can possibly say one skintone if worth more than another?
